Presented at Watches and Wonders 2022, the new Full Strike Tourbillon enriches the extensive collection of Haute Horlogerie L.U.C. from the house of Chopard. It is a watchmaking masterpiece equipped with a Tourbillon with a sapphire bridge and one of the most fascinating complications in the world of timepieces: the minute repeater.
Thanks to the high level of finish and construction, both on the movement and on the case, this watch boasts the Geneva Seal. In this article, we will discover all the features of the new Chopard L.U.C Full Strike Tourbillon.
The dial was created by affixing an ethical 18 ct rose gold plate, subsequently worked by hand, in order to obtain a ruthenium gray guilloché floral motif, obtained by means of a galvanic treatment.

Above the dial we can see, between 9 and 11 o’clock, a large opening that allows you to admire the two mirror-polished steel hammers which, once activated, generate the ringtone of the repetition of the minutes.
At 6 o’clock, however, we find a second window showing the Tourbillon of the L.U.C 08.02-L caliber. The tourbillon bridge, made of sapphire crystal, is a reference to the patented technology of the one-piece sapphire, characteristic of the Full Strike series.
Finally, at 2 o’clock, we find the indication of the power reserve which is around 60 hours.

Thanks to its Tourbillon and minute repeater, the new Full Strike Tourbillon turns out to be one of the greatest complicated and innovative luxury watches ever made. This watch features a unique and patented Chopard system, where the stamps and the sapphire crystal form a whole that resonates to produce the minute repeater chime.

With this timepiece, Chopard has managed to achieve an incredible acoustic richness that has been approved by the brothers Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, two virtuous musicians. As far as the Tourbillon is concerned, this contributes to guaranteeing an extreme precision of the movement, which has allowed the achievement of the COSC certification.
Through the sapphire crystal on the back, we can observe the L.U.C. 08.02-L, a hand-wound mechanical movement. Made with a total of 568 components, the frequency of this caliber is 4Hz (28,800 vibrations / hour). The power reserve is guaranteed for about 60 hours.

The case measures 42.5 mm and was crafted in 18K rose gold. At 3 o’clock we find a large crown that allows you to adjust the watch and activate the repetition of the minutes using the button located in the center. The dial and movement are covered with a sapphire crystal. On the caseback we find engraved, in the upper part, the name of the model and the number of your watch out of a total of 20 pieces. Finally, the strap is in leather with tone-on-tone hand stitching and equipped with a rose gold folding buckle.

Limited to just 20 pieces, the price of this new Chopard is around EUR 368,000.
