Welcome to Fabulous Las Matas Sign in Las Rozas de Madrid, Spain

The cities of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Las Matas, Madrid don't have much in common. Las Vegas is a dream come true for those ready to gamble and Las Matas is part of Las Rozas, a town north of Madrid that is far from the bright lights of Las Vegas.

However, there is one element they both share in common. Back in 2011, the Welcome to Fabulous Las Matas sign was crafted on a roundabout next to the Railway museum in Las Matas. The sign is a cheeky homage to the famous marquee in Las Vegas.

The sign soon became a popular selfie spot in Las Matas, but it did not take long for the local town hall to remove the sign since there were no legal documents backing its construction. A Facebook petition for its re-installation was started and the sign was reinstalled where it was and has remained ever since.
