Cat Shrine in Vernazza, Italy

Located on the walking path between Monterosso and Vernazza in the Cinque Terre National Park, locals have constructed a shrine to the cats of the area. The shrine has been in place since at least 2014, and the cats and shrine were still present in 2022 on a return visit.

The shrine includes a bin of food as well as feeding instructions for visitors, and local cats tend to hang around the area to beg treats from travelers traversing the paths between the cities.
