Boneyard Beach in Jacksonville, Florida

Boneyard Beach is tucked away on Big Talbot Island Preserve in the wider Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve. It features 20-foot bluffs falling away to the shoreline that, for several centuries, has been rapidly eroding which cause a number of trees for fall onto the beach.

Over time these trees have become bleached by sun and wind and have an almost bone-like appearance, hence the name. Curiously, real skeletons have been unearthed on this beach as well—the fossilized remains of several mammoths, that is.
